The title of this blog refers to my lifelong need to be close to water - usually the ocean, and my studio practice, primarily with the medium of watercolor, and often including the subject of water. My paintings and drawings are representational landscapes with a strong emphasis on abstract structure. Currently I am doing in-depth research on Cezanne and Matisse and their ideas and methods. I am experimenting with new levels of abstraction and will post images soon.

I also work occasionally in pastels and mixed mediums of watercolor and pastel.
